BRIEF HISTORY

Tabon M. Estrella National High School is a main secondary high school in Bislig City located in Sugala Street, Tabon, Bislig City. Tabon Maximino Estrella National High School (TMENHS) was formerly named Tabon Maximino Estrella Barangay High School. When it was nationalized, the name was changed to Tabon Maximino Estrella National High School. The first word of its name is taken from the name of the barangay where it is located and Maximino is taken in honor of the father of the late Congressman Ernesto T. Estrella, the lot donor.

The school was established through the enactment of Barangay Resolution No. 13, series of 1980, initiated by the Barangay Council of Tabon, headed by the late Barangay Captain Adelio G. Plaza. It started its operation as a barangay high school in the school year 1981 – 1982 headed by the School In-Charge, Mr. Yolando M. Serate. It initially offered the First Year and Second Year Levels with a total enrolment of 226; 153 of which are First Year students and 73 are Second Year students. It was manned by eight (8) teachers and one (1) clerk.

A complete Secondary Curriculum was offered in School Year 1982 – 1983 under Government Permit no. 09 – 133 – 1, s. of 1982 with a total enrolment of 842 students. With this increase in enrolment, the teaching staff was increased to 22. From 1986 to 1993, TMENHS was an annex school of Bislig National High School under the management of Mrs. Minda G. Prado, then the Assistant School Principal. From 1993 to December 1, 2002, Mrs. Amparo M. Plaza, Principal III, managed the school. When Mrs. Plaza left her post, Mrs. Josita B. Carmen, Head Teacher III, was assigned as Officer In-charge. On July 1, 2004, Mrs. Minda G. Prado, Principal III took over the management. With her untimely death on  April 1, 2012, Mrs. Rita S. Reyes, was appointed as the new School Head on June 1, 2012. She became a full-fledged Secondary School Principal IV on August 6, 2012.  Dr. Teresa G. Dumaran-Buray, Principal IV assumed office when Dr. Reyes was promoted as Chief EPS for Operation of BCD.  Mid last year, a swapping of principal has been implemented.  Presently, TMENHS is taken care of by Ms. Edna B. Delos Santos, Principal III.
